The Gold Coast offers a range of road cycling routes to suit all riders. From the relaxed flat rides along the Gold Coast beaches through to the hills and stunning lush scenery of the Hinterland.

With Springbrook National Park close by you can enjoy one of the famous climbs through lush rainforest to be rewarded with an epic view point (pictured above!).

No matter how much time you have you can always enjoy a leisurely ride along the bike paths following the beaches north or south.

This ride is a relaxed yet stunning coastal journey from Southport all the way down to Tweed Heads and back. The route follows the Gold Coast Highway and features dedicated bike lanes for much of the way, making it ideal for cyclists of all levels.

You’ll ride past iconic beaches like Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, and Currumbin, with endless ocean views and breezy seaside towns to keep things scenic and interesting.

This 68 km loop is a scenic mix of rolling countryside and coastal cruising—an ideal mid-length ride with variety and flow.

After navigating out of the city and past Nerang, you’ll head north into the peaceful hinterland roads that wind through Upper Coomera. Gentle climbs and sweeping rural views make this section a joy.

The return leg brings you back toward the coastline, rolling through Southport and down the beachfront for a relaxed finish. With just enough elevation to keep things interesting, this route is perfect for riders who want a little bit of everything—hills, scenery, and a smooth coastal spin to wrap it up.

This iconic ride is a true Gold Coast challenge, taking you deep into the rainforest and up to the breathtaking Best of All Lookout in Springbrook National Park. From the coast, you’ll roll through the suburban outskirts to Mudgeeraba, where the real climbing begins. The ascent is long and rewarding, winding through lush rainforest with cool air, birdsong, and dramatic switchbacks. As you near the summit, expect steeper gradients and a sense of isolation that makes the climb feel wild and epic.

The top offers panoramic views across the Northern Rivers plateau—an unforgettable payoff for the effort. Along the way, you’ll find several picnic areas with toilet facilities, and once in Springbrook village, local cafés provide a great spot to refuel and soak in the mountain atmosphere.

Descend with care, especially in wet conditions, as the shaded road can be slippery.

Springbrook National Park Return

This challenging route takes you up one of the most popular climbs on the Gold Coast to Best Of All Lookout in Springbrook National Park with stunning views of the Northern Rivers plateau.

Once you pass through Mudgeeraba the climbing begins as the gradient increases through lush rainforest with some steep sections near the top.

There are quite a few pic nic areas with toilet blocks on the way up and there are cafes in Springbrook National Park to refuel.

Be careful on the descents as it can be slippery when wet.
