Insurance - Japan

Your bike is not covered by insurance which means if you damage the bike or its stolen this cost will need to be covered by you. 

A ¥50,000 security deposit will be held on your credit card to cover accidental damage to the bike.   

Note: This deposit shows up as a charge to your card the day before your rental starts but is just a hold until the rental is complete. 

We recommend taking out Bike Damage Protection for just ¥3,500 per day with us offering peace of mind by reducing your financial responsibility for any accidental damage to your rented bike. Should any damage occur while riding, your out-of-pocket cost is capped at ¥50,000.

This cover applies only to accidental damage to the rental bike and does not extend to lost or stolen bikes, third-party claims, or personal injury.

We strongly advise you to arrange your own 3rd Party Liability Cover with a reputable provider to cover claims that may arise in the event of an incident or injury involving a 3rd party covering all road users and pedestrians.
