Making Cycling Travel Easy in Adelaide
Tour Down Under is one of the biggest events on the global cycling calendar, attracting riders, fans, and travellers from all over Australia and overseas. For BikeRental.cc, it’s also one of the most important moments of the year to help visiting cyclists experience the event and the region without the hassle of travelling with their own bikes.
For Tour Down Under 2026, BikeRental.cc delivered its largest Adelaide activation to date.
Expanding the Adelaide Fleet
To meet increased demand during the event, we expanded our existing Adelaide fleet by transporting bikes from our Sydney operation. This allowed us to significantly increase availability while maintaining the same high standards of quality, setup, and servicing our customers expect.
The expanded fleet ensured riders had access to premium, event ready bikes throughout the Tour Down Under period, with strong demand across the full 11 days of racing and associated events.
Renting Directly from the TDU Village
One of the highlights of this year’s activation was our collaboration with Winspace, which allowed riders to rent bikes directly from the Winspace stand in the Tour Down Under village.
- This created an incredibly simple experience for visitors:
- Arrive in Adelaide
- Visit the TDU village
- Collect a bike directly from the event hub
- Ride immediately
By removing unnecessary logistics, BikeRental.cc made it easier for travellers to focus on what they came for, riding great roads, watching world class racing, and enjoying everything Tour Down Under has to offer.
Convenient Collections and Drop-Offs
Convenience is at the core of BikeRental.cc, especially during major events. Alongside village based rentals, we offered flexible collection and drop off options across Adelaide, allowing riders to plan their trips around racing schedules, travel plans, and accommodation locations.
This flexibility proved essential for interstate and international visitors looking for a stress free way to ride during the event.
Supporting Cycling Tourism in South Australia
BikeRental.cc worked closely with local partners and SA Tourism to support cycling tourism during Tour Down Under. From short city rides to longer Adelaide Hills adventures, rental customers used our bikes to explore the region beyond the race routes.
The overwhelming demand and positive feedback reinforced the role high quality bike rentals play in supporting major cycling events and tourism experiences.
Looking Ahead to 2027
Tour Down Under 2026 was a milestone event for BikeRental.cc in Adelaide, but we’re only getting started. Planning is already underway to further expand our fleet, improve access, and deliver an even better rental experience for Tour Down Under 2027.
